Oral Communications

Congratulations to all the participants at today's Oral Communications Festival.
We had 9 brave young women speak about topics ranging from
Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women to WWE Women Wrestling Twins.
Whether their intention was to inform, persuade or entertain,
all nine did a fabulous job speaking to the judges and audience.
The following four students placed at the top and will represent JC Hill
at the District Oral Communications Festival on February 5th at I.L. Thomas School:

1st: Cara Hill
2nd: Mackenzie Garlow
3rd: Shae VanEvery
4th: MacKenzie Miller

Skillz to Pay tha Billz

Skills Canada came and gave a presentation to the grade 7 and 8 students today, finishing with a marshmallow bridge building competition.  Mrs. Hannah, the presenter, commented on how our school built the best overall group of bridges that she had seen so far in her travels.  It was sticky and some bridges were rickety, but most could support the weight of a rubber duck and a can of soup.
