Smoke Dance Champs at the Mohawk Social

Congratulations to our smoke dancers who participated in Mohawk College's competition at their annual social. Everyone who participated did a fine job, really "giving 'er" and showing what JC Hill students are made of. Of our bold and brave participants, three placed in their categories. Randy H. placed third, Dallas J. placed second, and Christina H. took first place honours in a tough field that needed a dance off to determine the winner. For more info, click here.

Enjoy some of their moves...

Planning for the remainder of the year – The group reviewed the volunteer form to see what activities were remaining that the Home & School would like to complete. The group discussed conducting a Valentine’s Day draw and an Easter draw. The timing for both draws does not work well this year due to the interruptions of Mid-Winters, March Break and Easter. Dan also expressed that Jamieson had difficulties selling tickets. He suggested that colour coding of the tickets be done if the group decided to have the students sell tickets. Mr. Restoule suggested asking Mr. Shognosh where he printed up his tickets for last year’s draw.

The group decided because of the timing the school would not participate in the two draws this year. The group decided that Bread and Cheese parking would be planned. ACTION: Deneen to write letter to public works and request and phone parents interested in being part of the Grade 8 Graduation Committee.

The Spelling Bee is being held in April at the WCC.
